Bio:

“We are the Light that drives back the Darkness. We are brothers-in-arms, and kin in spirit, born of different worlds, but bound to the same destiny. Though I know not what we face next, I know one thing – I will not let you fall before our duty is done.”

Bannock is a Dwarf from Straklenheim, who heard the Call of Moradin at a very young age. Sent from his home in the Shield District, he was indoctrinated with the Red Drakkgoon. After the Drakkenfall (which he did not fight in) he was sent to the All-Meet in Brimspire as a protector of his people’s emissary, Veros Axebreaker. Here, he met the Shifter Monk of the White Lotus Tor, and the Religious Psion Dragonborn Pallus, and an intense rivalry began – however, after many combats alongside the Dragonborn’s side, and learning their side of the story, Bannock’s instilled hatred gave way to an endearing camaraderie will the apparent death of Culrik Soulmourn. As common religious beliefs between Bannock and Pallus became more and more prevalent, the voice of Moradin grew stronger in Bannock. Realizing he was not destined to destroy the Dragonborn, and that the popular ways of Moradin were flawed and far from the God, he accepted it was his Purpose to re-establish the True Code of Moradin. Recently, en route to Straklenheim, he met the Young Human Jorn Von Teagen – a Descendent-Hero among the Dwarven People. Jorn’s family had been assassinated, leaving him Heir to a Murdered Nobility. By Dwarven Honor and Moradin’s Will, Bannock found himself bound to the Holy-Assassin of Ilmater, and ever since the two have become fast friends. He was forced to Raise Arms against his former Brothers-In-Arms, the Now-Corrupted Red Drakkgoon, who served now under Bannock’s age old-rival, and secret Worshipper of Vergadin, Thurin Copperpit. Bannock killed ‘the Bastard’ but he and his allies were captured and forced to battle in the Hammerheart arena. Their lives were spared by the wise Dwarven King, Hogun Wyrmcutter – Through a loophole, their lives could be spared but it would force Bannock to forsake his clanship, and the party to be banished from Straklenheim. Bannock understood the King Good Intent, and accepted the conditions.

Now Bannock has a vision of Moradin – one that is not only restricted to Dwarven Worship – that he believes is closest to the God’s True Will. He seeks to form what he calls the ‘Gold Drakkgoon’ – an organization of Holy Warriors dedicated to no one God, but rather to the general Good of all of Opern – and to stand as defiance to the encroaching darkness. Bannock swears that one day he will liberate his former Order of Red Drakkgoon from the Evils which blind them, and lead the people of Straklenheim, and all the world, closer to The Light – even if it means he must raise his Hammer against his own people once again. He has sworn on his Honor to protect Pallus, Tor, and Jorn Von Teagen – believing they play key roles in a massive change that’s about to occur in Opern.

Bannock doesn’t believe in Coincidence, believing Fate as a predetermined Path forged by Moradin. He’s fairly superstitious, and finds meaning in words to be deep and important – this is partially the Reason he’s so bound to Pallus- whose name is strikingly similar to the Dwarven Word for “Chosen” and holds a particular gravity with Bannock.

(Moradin = All-Creator // Din = Creator/Creating // Paladin = Creator’s Chosen // Pala = Chosen)
